Kajang!! What is famous there? Oh… Ask 10 people and they will give you same answer…. Satay Kajang!!! For those who don’t know what is satay- it’s actually a dish of marinated, skewered and grilled meats, served with peanut sauce. Heard it’s originated from Jawa and Sumatra in Indonesia and it has become a national dish there. With new generation evolved, it’s no longer limit to chicken, beef and lamb meat. Nowadays they have rabbit, deer, pork, fish, liver, tofu satay. My o my… Spoilt with choices aren’t we??
If you happen to be in Kajang, the shop that you need to head for a good satay is Restoren Hj Samuri. Located in a very prominent place, one should not miss the restaurant. Haji Samuri is one mammoth restaurant comparing to some other satay restaurant located in Kajang. There are two floors with one air conditioned section at the ground floor. Head there if you think your night is a bit hot. They are so 'in' with their service as you need to self service but order is delivered to your table in lightning speed. Honestly, thumbs up for such a great service......
Back to their satay- excellent and juicy especially the chicken satay (RM0.60/stick) my favorite, I also ordered the beef satay (RM0.60/stick) but I found that it’s a bit hard and not so easy to chew into smaller pieces. The satay are good, no doubt about that. The special ones which cost more are rabbit and deer satay (RM1.50/stick). Wonder how it tastes like. Don’t bother asking for mutton satay as they are always out of stock…… Their gravy is brown greyish which tasted sweet and loaded with peanuts. Chili is provided separately and you can customize your own peanut sauce’s spiciness.
Yummy!!!! Slurp~~~ |
