Makeover Beauty Fair 2011 - Mid Valley Exhibition Hall

All of the purchase in within 2 hours during the beauty fair. Plus, the room diffuser (rose) purchased during Dim Sum session with my beloved besties.

Did I mention, Vincci has renovation sales in Mid Valley. I bought 2 shoes. RM30 and RM10. Love the shoes. The one in jeans was tagged as RM20, but when scanned, the nice cashier lady say its RM10(Original RM89). My heaven... The white heels is RM30. Original price is RM109.

Back to some info on the first pic in this entry. Bought another hair dryer for my mom to use in Kuantan. This is officially, the 4th hair dryer I bought. Not that others spoil, in fact all still working well. Its just for different room in the house. I finally bought a hair straightener. RM25. Plus a free hair spray courtesy of Andy. Part of the things in the pics are free.

Diffuser is RM10 (thanks to Annie's nego skill). Top left are free items. Some pimple gel, lip balm and a mask. Bottom middle is my most expensive purchase and I am sure I will buy more. It is with a Taiwan brand call momus. Their products can be viewed from www.momus.com.tw or their seller in Malaysia is reachable at www.momusskinfood.blogspot.com

Me and Annie bought a set for blackhead. The reason we trust it is thanks to the test on Subie. Very effective indeed. We purchased 1 set consisting softener for blackhead, extracter and pore minimizer. They gave the stick sheet for free (80 piece cost RM5) plus some sample for make up remover (jojoba oil) and toner (with serum).

The sales person Joanne and her brother Yeow was really nice to give us 30% off everything.

Love the short time we had today. Thanks to Annie, Subie, Andy, Yuki, Ah Look and Mr Fiancée today.

Love,
Angel

Dearly Empurau Fishy

‘OMG!!!!! A fresh river fish that cost RM800/kg?????? that is my inner voice shouting inside when I saw the price tag shown in front of the fish tank in one of the restaurant in Kuching, Sarawak. The dearly fished called empurau and only found in East Sarawak upper stream rivers which lives on wild fruits and flowers, the Buah Kabang or Engkabang.
No kidding. Its written there RM80.00/ 100gm.
They look normal thou.... Lucky fishy to be so expensive

My business partner brings me with bunch of his colleague there for dinner and welllll….. He ordered the empurau for us to enjoy. Generous guy and LUCKYYY bunch of us especially ME. The fish weighted 3 kg (RM2, 400.00 for the cost of the fish for a dinner?? Hmmm… he must be making lotsa money here). He is smart in getting the fish cooked in 2 different style- red wine and soya sauce with ginger slice) so we can try different cooking for this fish.

Empurau cooked with red wine. Nice.

I must say this fish is really good. They cooked it perfectly- it is tender and the textured of flesh is amazingly soft. Flavor differently as it has some special aroma mainly due to its fruits and flowers that they eat. I would say this dear empurau died worthy. Heard from my partner that it must be right way to cook this fish or you will lose the sweetness and softness of the texture in the fish and not many restaurants knows how to cook this precious fish. I prefer the empurau which is cooked with soya sauce. The flavors are intense that it brings out the best in the fish. Just put a tiny piece into your mouth and amazingly it melted as soon as it’s inside. I am truly blessed to be able to taste this fish here. Kudo!!! to the fish for having such a good meat.
My favourite for the night. Yumzzz

We had a local vegetable to compliment the fish. It’s called bidin. If you are familiar with paku pakis (fern leaf), bidin is something similar to it but smoother version. It is usually cooked with red wine or belacan here. It makes me wonder for a while, is red wine a popular way of cooking here? I never had fish or vegetable cooked in red wine back in peninsular. Pretty funny way of cooking but absolutely delicious combination. Back to the bidin, we had both type of cooking for it ans I must say I prefer the red wine style. It’s just at the right taste and the bidin can just be eaten at such without having to mix it with rice. Simply luscious!
Red wine bidin

On the table there are also deep fried pork knucker, black pepper deer meat, sizzling bean curd and another specialty of the restaurant- herbal pork rib.
Pork Knuckle with their special made dip sauce. OK but nothing so fancy.
Black Pepper Deer Meat. Tasted bit like pork but more tender. Tasted OK only.

OK! I have to say the herbal pork rib is a total squander. The aroma of the herbal is a bit strong and the soup is just too thick. Worse the pork rib got into the simmer pot too long that those meats are soft. Soft! Too soft! What a waste of this dish.
The total waste pork rib herbal dish. Ewwww.... taste bad!

Well, besides the pork rib everything is good. I had a memorable empurau dish. Niceeee… Slurp!!!!

I had it this fish in Kuching but heard that there is one restaurant in KL, to be precise it's in Kuchai Lama that are cooking this fish as well. Time to keep some $$ and head there later.

Stomach Crisis~

What will your verdict be? I was happily enjoying my dance class in the gym (even though I was dancing like a chicken) and I finished stretching just in time for my bath before Mr Fiancée come pick me. Yes, I am that lucky to have him fetching me back safely from the gym.

After my calm bath session, I put on my clothes and as the moment I was pulling my super tight skirt (I put on weight) I felt someone pulling my stomach, big and small intestines. It seriously felt this way. It was so painful that I grab my blackberry and locker key and head direct to the toilet. I had enough sanity to put on my heels before I run to the toilet.
I spent about 15 minutes clearing whatever I had and it was still a torture to my tummy. It came to my knowledge that Mr Fiancée was having tummy ache as well. And he was just outside my gym. He asked if I could get him in to use the toilet later, I told him I could but I am not done yet. He ended up heading to a hotel nearby while I was still cramming in the toilet.

When I was done, it was his turn. So I went and blow dry my hair thinking the whole ordeal is over. Unfortunately, my hair was not even halfway dry when the train crashing pain in my tummy came back. At that point of time, I have my gym back, laptop bag, handbag and another plastic with my tupperware in it. I opened a locker, threw everything in it and head to the toilet just in time.

After another dreadful 10 minutes, I finally made it to Mr Fiancée's car. The fact that we both have identical pain and it happened the same time, it must be something we ate right? We both suspected the same. He however, suspect its the food we had in pasar malam yesterday causing the torture to us. To my logic, I doubt so as I had my poopoo session for yesterday's food early this morning. We cross check to see what other food we both had. And appear "Abalone". I suspected its the abalone but he insist its pasar malam. It does not make sense to me because that should be digested long ago.

Whilst abalone was just taken around 3 to 4 hours prior to our pain and torture. We could hardly describe the pain. It does felt a lot like my gastric pain too. And we both are still having our sessions in the toilet. That is one reason why each house should have more than 1 toilet built if they can afford it. I checked with others who ate abalone, they seemed fine. But they ate it yesterday. Mine and fiancée ate it today. Could it be the reheat process? Or was it exposed to fly before we ate it?

Would you say its the expensive abalone or would you blame it to the cheap pasar malam food? Whatever the verdict is, I am still stuck with the pain. There goes my relaxing night session. HELP!

Restless and Helpless

From My Small Lil Brain~

The best time for me to blog is when I am waiting. I always see a lot of interesting things around while waiting. Do you think a lot? I know I do. I have my personal blog, but it is temporary set aside for now. Su is outstation and my bridal shot is 3 weeks away. Oh yes, I really didn't mention bout me getting married right?

Is he the man of my dream? He does not have green eyes for sure but he is everything a girl could ask for. At least for me. Between me and my sisters, I dated the shortest time before my wedding bell rings. Su is 8 years more and Ju is 5 I think.

I was reading 2 of Ju's blog entry. I doubt she added it to our blog yet. She is an amazing writer. I suddenly felt that my brain is always scattered around. I have a blackberry, make full use of it. Yes, full use of it. Means I can always type as we go.

Just awhile ago, I saw this lady picking a plastic bag from the ground. I was thinking if she was hoping she find something valuable there. Then I thought, what's the most important thing I found before? And what's the most valuable thing I lost before?

I just finished watching "Limitless" movie courtesy of Zhi Ching. That's my fiancee's sister. The movie is about popping a pill that triggers all the sensors on your brain and let you able to fully utilize your brain. I think the movie was good. Especially when I start imagining my super tagline "What If?"

That doesn't help me much. Anyone getting married soon? Anyone planning a wedding? Anyone want advice? I know I want. My dearest sister in law, Canny have been a darling and help me look for "Kua" a chinese traditional piece of clothing. Its a waste that I only wear it once but buying seems to cost cheaper than renting (she found cheap source for me)

Till next round. On the way home now and my car sickness is not helping my typing.

The ME Birthday Celebration: Daorae BBQ Restaurant

Worth going>>>>> OK!!!

Woohoo!!!! I am a year older ANDDDDD wiser! No..... I am still young and i love my life. Recently, Angel and the new guest of honor to this blog, Jol celebrated my birthday in a Korean restaurant called Daoroe Korean BBQ Restaurant. It was my choice of food and I hinted to them weeks back that I had that once and I love it. Guess the hint get obvious and they love me so much that they bring me there on my birthday.
The hint that i gave to my sister and holaaaa i am here for my birthday

Korean is famous for their healthy banchan (Korean side dishes) that complement their main meal We are spoilt with 12 choices of banchan and its replenished whenever we finished the dishes one on table. Bad side? We have to remind the poor waiter to restock that for us as there are way too patrons at the time of our stay.
So spoilt by choiche of banchan

For the main meal, the captain reminded that we have to get one entrée each and we have 7 of us there. 7 main meals?????  We looked at each other and asking our self are we that crazy to have 7 main meals with 12 restock able side dishes????? That is too much!!!! Luckily…. Nice captain advice us to get the Korean rice (RM5.00) as it’s accounted as main meal. Phew!! Relief!!! But… its still expensive considering it’s only a small bowl of rice. Well, they say these grain flew all the way from Korea thus the price.

Daorae table setup allowed a stove to be placed in the middle of the dining table. The use of this stove? BBQ- grilling meats such as beef, pork and chicken!!!! T & C? You have to order at least 2 BBQ main meal to allowed them to cook at the stove. Bad side? The staff cooks for you. Hmmm…. Wondering why they need the staff to cook anddddd cut the meat for the patrons? Since you allowed the open stove concept, the patron should do it themselves but well, I guess its Daorae style of serving their customers.
The 'bling bling' stove

We had Pork Ju-mul-luk (pork slice BBQ) (RM35.00), Dak-gla-bi (chicken BBQ) (RM28.00) and Wang Gal Bi (Thick Beef Slice) (RM55.00) to go on the stove. The meats are grilled perfectly and the juices remain inside the meat. Complete heaven if you wrap it with lettuce (replenish-able) and pop it to your mouth. The combination is superb. Not oily and it feels good!
Look at the thickness of the Wang Gal Bi. If only they can provide more of these at same price
The juicy Pork Ju-mul-luk. So yummy!!!
Dak-gla-bi marinated in soya sauce and the tenderness of the meat is just made in heaven

We ordered the hot pot-haemool-guk-su-jeon-seafood (seafood kimchi soup) (RM50.00) as the other main dishes because too much grilled just too ‘grilled’ for the nightJ. Well, this kimchi soup has lots of seafood variety ranging from crab, prawn, clams and handful of mushroom.
The reddish kimchin soup that looks spicy but a taste will tell you how sweet the soup were.

The bill? You do the maths but considering teh good service and thoughtful staff, it worth every penny THEY spent for me J..... I enjoy the scrumptious food there.

Oh…. How could I forget the birthday cake they got me for my 29th birthday… It’s chocolate mousse cake which is absolutely delicious. Frankly, I am not a big fan of chocolate but this cake is really amazing. All the 7 of us are impressed by the taste of this cake.
Ahhhhh... The simple decorated but really delicious chocolate mousse cake. They got this cake someone nearby this restaurant

Conclusion is I love the luxury Korean dinner that they treat me and the effort for getting me the mouth-watering cake. Thank you sisters and guys.
The beautiful companion for the grande me celebration!!!!

Note of follow up by Suz.....

In contrast to Angel, I am people person without the cockiness appearanceJ. I may not be as talkative she is because I use my mouth to enjoy the food instead of talking :)

I always go around looking for good food to eat and hope I can share my view with people around the nation and world. I wish to see people enjoy their life with the delicious and scrumptious food that is made available in this planet. Good food need not be expensive… even a street stall can bring the best in the food. I always believe in this theory and you will be able to see a lot of street food review coming from me…. I am loooooking forward to tell you my experience in searching for food… be it good or bad food that I found along my way.

In search of food, I landed myself to a few countries and YIPEE!!!!! Perfecto!!!! It’s a eyes opening.

Let’s get more of what I have eaten and where I have been for the food in the coming entries…
Presenting myself........

Guest of Honour~

Yes, thats the name I am presenting our other sis with. A guest of honor for our blog. We love her and she is equally as talkative as we are but we did not include her in the initiation of our little chatterbox. She is however, as welcomed as any of us and she will and can input anything whenever she wants.

I recently got back from my Krabi trip. Pictures are still in the memory card and it looks like I will be blogging about it soon. I went there specially for the water festival there. I might be able to include a blog about Melbourne trip that I just got back 2 weeks back.

In addition, I had an awesome time celebrating Suz's birthday today. We had a great time and hope there will be more to come. Time passes so quickly and without noticing, it has been 1 year since we last celebrated her birthday.
The 3 of us- Angel in disguise

First Entry by Angel~

It is extremely easy to identify blogs by me. All my blog title ends with a symbol and most of the time, this cute little symbol ~

I read it somewhere before that the first blog entry defines you. I have to agree that it does define the blog and the person writing it but it is only applicable at the time it is written. 5 years from now, I will be looking back at the first post and ask, who is that person who wrote this. Most of the time, I hardly recognize my own work. I am not surprise if one day I stumble on my work in the market and I start asking, whose writing is that. It somehow sounded familiar.

I hope one day, even when we (Suz and me) argue, this blog remains strong. Probably, we will have some cat fight and some scratching but hopefully, nothing really serious. Sisterhood! YAY! I will probably sound more ridiculous than I already am. So, lets get back to the topic of an introduction. This one is from me, you will probably get another one from Suz, or maybe not. We blog because we want to do something we like. And share something we love.

There has been more than one occasion where I needed some information, and I scratch my head up and down finding it online. Even Google was not much of a help. Let me name a few topics, travel, food, wedding, pets, accessories, designs and not forgetting products. Yes, I know it perfectly well that most products in the market have its own review but I want a real review from a user and not someone bias. I was looking for tech product, a camera in particular and a few blog I read was extremely wonderful help. I really thank those writers for the information, comparison and feedback given.

Another occasion is when I am looking for information on travelling locations. I am not a multimillionaire (not even near a millionaire) and so I do not have that budget to be staying first class hotel, taking first class flight, going to first class places (what am I talking here). All I need is information on things I can do, how to do it, how to get there or even hotel information that includes some pictures maybe and some simple details to convince me that I am not going to a pirate house. (Me and Suz name it such for those house that robs you off your money subconsciously). Few occasions, I managed to find wonderful information. If I am able to find those websites back, it will be my honor to thank them here in my blog. Also, this might help people who are looking for it in the future.

I personally am a very talkative person but please do not compare me to Suz. We are both extremely talkative but I have my cocky times especially when someone first met me. I know for sure, they will think that I am superb “lansi”or we know that as cocky. Don’t get cheated by my look, I don’t bite. I just swallow you down my throat. So, do not cross me, or else I will eat you up. Whoooppps…. I might be scaring people already.

Every now and then, I will be blogging bout something that happened that I see or even something that I heard. Hopefully, I have pictures to come with it as I love animations rather than just words and words and words. I am personally attracted to pictures. I bought 2 new books without reading all the contents just because I find the pictures interesting. How easy to cheat my money right? It is not as easy as it sounds. Whenever possible, I will be blogging bout the current, previous or future trips I am taking. I hope my previous trips have enough informative pictures so that everyone can get bits and pieces of information needed.

Hopefully, this sisters blog will improve over time.

Love,
Angel
